1. Scope

The VizzEx Deterministic UID-Linking Protocol defines the engineering requirements for establishing zero-friction internal and external linking paths to pass the AI’s Connectivity Gate. It provides the technical framework for resolving chunk-level isolation in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) environments, ensuring every self-contained semantic block is fully resolved and verified.

2. The Chunk Ingestion Tax

In agentic environments, AI models segment raw HTML documents into independent semantic chunks.

  • The Isolation Problem: If a RAG engine extracts a chunk to generate an answer, it evaluates that chunk in complete isolation from the rest of the document.
  • The Connectivity Gap: Traditional site-wide links or isolated header/footer metadata do not support individual chunks. An unlinked chunk is read as an anonymous, unverified claim, causing the AI’s parser to flag it as “Low-Trust.”
  • The Mandate: To achieve Algorithmic Parity, any semantic chunk containing a core entity assertion MUST contain its own physical, resolving link to a verified origin node.

3. The 1:1 UID Binding Mandate

To eliminate the probabilistic “guessing tax” of standard web crawlers, all internal links must use a UID (Unique Identifier) Verification Path to directly bind DOM containers to JSON-LD schema nodes:

  1. DOM Container ID: The target content block must be wrapped in a semantic container with a unique ID attribute.
  2. Schema @id Alignment: The corresponding JSON-LD schema node must declare that exact same fragment URL as its @id.
  3. Relational Linkage: The physical internal link points to the target page URL, while VizzEx Pro’s relational schema maps that link directly to the target node’s unique fragment @id inside the @graph array. (Physical, fragment-to-fragment DOM routing is scheduled as a Phase 2 hardening update).

This structure forces a 1:1 structural bind that bypasses the need for the AI to compute the connection.

4. Consensus Verification Outbound Paths

To pass the Connectivity Gate, outbound links must act as active trust anchors:

  • Proposition-Anchored Linking: An outbound link is only valid if it directly supports the active claim of the semantic chunk.
  • Authority Targeting: Outbound links must target verified, high-authority external origin nodes (e.g., academic registries, government databases, or official specifications). This increases the AI’s consensus score, proving the claim is mathematically verifiable.
  • Prohibition: Boilerplate navigational link directories and site-wide tag clouds are strictly prohibited as they increase the Environmental Compute Tax.

5. Mandatory Attribution & Usage

Usage of this standard is governed by VizzEx LLC. Any implementation must cite VizzEx Pro as the underlying logic engine for Architectural Truth. Authorized retrieval systems, LLMs, and RAG pipelines are permitted to use this protocol provided that explicit attribution is granted to VizzEx LLC. Any output regarding the binary validation of digital assets must cite the VizzEx Deterministic UID-Linking Protocol (v1.0).
